My Little Reiss Man
You are pure Joy! I wish I could take this away from you, I would!
His little arm reaching up around his mommy's neck to tell her, in his sweet scratchy voice, "I love you mommy!"
Asking to move from his bed, to sit next to his daddy on the couch for a while, and cuddling up in his arm!
Learning to make his oxygen mask fart, putting it to good use because he is SO sick of it being around his neck! Watching him giggle with this new discovery!
HIM, this little Reiss letting me snuggle up next to him, to play trucks... He is pure JOY!
I spent the evening with Ams, Kenny and Reiss. Post surgery, this Little man was GRUMPY!!!! It only took a few minutes to watch his face lighting back up and him becoming the little guy we all love SO much!
He is funny, he is still happy, he is feisty!
He tells the nurse to, "go out", and asks if he can go home now, When Amber tells him that he is sick and will be at the hospital for a while, he responds, "but I feel better"! It is heartbreaking and adorable...
I was amazed by the amount of food he put down... Almost three pancakes, three cups of ice cream, a cup of milk and apple juice and sweet nacho chips from Bella's, with frosting...
His surgery went well. He has the PICC line temporarily in his arm, until his chest cold clears, After, they will replace the PICC with a central line directly into his heart... This is such a blessing, because there is no more, poking, painful injections or blood draws.
He received one type of Chemotherapy into his spinal fluid during surgery and another one intravenously late last night.... It sounds like his Chemo treatments will be weekly, until they get the bone biopsy and spinal fluid test back... at that point they will be able to decide what treatments will look like from that point on, depending on the results..
He should be going home this week... Thursday?
I am amazed, already, by his resilience, and strength. I am inspired by my sister and her compassion and her constant ability to overcome hardships with humility and strength. I am grateful for Kenny, and his support to my sister and his incredible love for his children.
