Yay!!! Reiss had a better night! He finally stood and walked for the first time in 24 hours. He filled a total of 12 diapers yesterday (his tummy must feel SO much better!) and hasn't cried!! He is actually a little happy! His 3:00-6:00 nap must have really helped!
Feeling a little better last night. |
I am a friend of Amanda & Cameron Bennett's. My little guy was diagnosed with ALL on Sep. 7, 2011. He was 22 months. There really isn't too much to say besides it DOES get better. Ethan (my son) cried and cried any time we either went to the hospital, or if a nurse walked into his hospital room (he was in the hospital for a month because he got an infection in his PICC line). Now we go into clinic, and he knows the routine of weighing in, taking temperature, measuring height, and blood pressure. He runs right to his room and chats the nurses and doctors up. Chemo and hospitals are just a way of life now. That may sound sad, but it is a blessing that it is no longer so traumatic. We are in maintenance now, but that first year is HARD! Don't be afraid to take the help that is offered, or to ask for help. You will need it! Amanda was going to give you my contact info, and PLEASE contact me with any questions, or if you EVER need help! Looking through your blog, I remember all of those feelings- sadness, feeling overwhelmed, not quite knowing what to expect, the tragedy of watching your little guy suffer. I am so sorry! Hang in there and let me know if I can do anything! I sincerely mean that!
