Here comes the sun

Things are looking up for this little guy! Just a few days off that steroid and we are starting to see signs of the REAL Reiss. The funny, happy little boy we know!  He is smiling and laughing more. Making little jokes and tricking his mom with antics only a 2 year old can. For example:

Amber- "Reiss what do you want to drink?"

Reiss- "I want mommy!"

Amber- "You can't drink me!!!"

Reiss- BUSTS up laughing at his funny joke! :) 

He got to go to the park yesterday and enjoyed sitting in the big red swing. He even smiled and laughed a couple times! Still not "my son" as Amber said, because he mostly sat in the stroller very melancholy and watched the kids. But it was good to get him out in the sunshine and to see that smile even for just a few minutes.  He wanted to try the wobbly bridge, but his little body and legs are just too weak. 

He DID enjoying swinging, but you can't tell by this picture because he didn't want his picture TAKEN! 

We did a little face time today with Reiss! It is so good for my heart to see that boy! I miss him so much! Just before we talked, he was sitting outside eating popsicles with Tayger, looking for bugs under the weed barrier. Just doing boy stuff, you know! Amber said today he is finally showing interest in playing. Yay!

This was his first reaction when our faces popped up on the screen! I almost cried when I saw that smile! 

Sweet boy!

So grateful to have last month behind us.  Sure, there will be bumps in the road and there will be more hard days in the future, but for now we focus on the good. The good days now and the good days to come. The light. The sunshine in early spring that brings forth new life, hope and sense of renewal.
