Are you sure?
"Are you sure this little boy has leukemia?"
"Are you sure he just finished a very intense 8 weeks of treatment?"
"Are you sure he's even getting chemo?"
"He looks GREAT!" -Dr. Barnette
This is Reiss with leukemia....
almost 6 months into treatment.
Isn't he amazing!
If you didn't know him, you would never know he is fighting for his life.
If you didn't know him, you would never know the fear and pain he has endured.
Or the heartache and worry his parents feel on a daily basis.
You would never know how sick he really is.
If you didn't know he had cancer, you would just assume he was a happy, healthy little boy...
Reiss finished up his 8 weeks of Interim Consolidation. Overall, this phase went pretty well! Although the 4 days spent in the hospital every other week were long, and a little inconvenient, Amber said this phase went much better than she expected. Staying in the hospital had its hard moments, but they were so grateful to have such wonderful care and monitoring for Reiss, which really helped keep him comfortable. Despite the side effects; mouth sores, feet sores, port issues (resulting in de-accessing and re-accessing while in the hospital) things were pretty good! I (Erin) was able to be in UT for the last part of this phase! It was so good to see him feeling good and doing well! We went to church and he looked so handsome, I just had to snap a few pictures! We made a deal that if he would let me take his pictures, then I would let him climb up my legs and do flips! It worked!
Such a precious little guy!
At this point I'm starting to wonder if he will EVER lose his hair! :)
Please keep praying for this beautiful boy.
