Just wanted to send a quick update. Reiss has gone downhill today. My mom is staying with him, and the other kids, while Amber and Kenny are out of town. This morning, Reiss passed out, was struggling to breathe, and spiked a fever. My mom rushed him to the hospital in Price, where they spent most of the day. His oxygen was only at 73 when they arrived. They were able to stabilize him and run some tests. His blood, platelets, and ANC are all very low. They did an x-ray and although it came back looking ok, they think he is pre-pneumonia. They have decided to air lift him to Primary's, and will admit him to the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) to make sure he gets the best 24 hour care. With his ANC at only 100, any infection will be a fight. He is alert and talking, and doing as well as can be expected. He is a fighter! I'm grateful he will be in the best care. I will update as we learn more.
Thanks for your love and prayers,
Erin (Amber's sister)
ps. Amiah and Tayger are in good hands with Grandma Debbie! :)

Please let us know if they need anything. Amber has my phone # and I am friends with her on FB. We are at Primary's in inpatient doing chemo treatments, so we can run get things if they need it, or whatever they need. We live in West Jordan so we are never too far. Little Reiss will be in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteThis little boy has my heart! I don't like scary days! Not at all! I will be praying he gets over this quickly and back home. I am always available too to run to the hospital. Anything they need! I know what has essential it is to get a little break... even for an hour.
